Quick Question...

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I have good excuses, I promise. I doubt many people read this, but I think this is more for my own mental health than anything else. This is probably the only sane method of talking to yourself.

I will have a real post tomorrow, or possibly tonight, depending on how much I get checked off my huge list of things to do.

I only am posting tonight in order to ask one question. Maybe you can help. If not, just ponder with me:

How do you prevail when you're on the brink of collapse?

Live Mets Press Conference

Just had to say a little something about this--thing--I'm watching right now.

I'm watching the live Mets press conference on SNY featuring Mets GM Omar Minaya and Interim Manager Jerry Manuel. I have to say, I really don't care much for Omar. I've never been his biggest fan, but he just seems slimy today. He is elusive in answering question and just gives me the feeling that he's hiding stuff. Honesty is obviously a big thing with me.

However, although I may not have been the biggest supporter of Jerry Manuel taking the manager's position, I may start to warm up to him. He actually shows emotion (Willie showed none) and he seems to be pretty competent. The way he is answering questions, I am starting to become hopeful again about the Mets season. Manuel's alright with me--for now. I am, after all, a New York fan. We can change our minds about how we feel about our sports teams at the drop of a dime. I guess it's our cross to bare.

A New Era Began This Morning at 3:15 AM...

It's official. The moment all Mets fan knew deep down inside was coming...
Willie Randolph is gone. With him, went Rick Peterson.

Halle-fricken-lujah.

I'm not sure why it took this long and happened in this manner. Not many people are. Right now I'm watching Mike Francesa and Chris Russo (Mike and the Mad Dog for all those New Yorkers) debate whether the Mets organization went about this all the right way. I think they did it exactly right. If they did it before the current road trip they are on, it would have spelt disaster for the Mets. I doubt they would have won a single game. But what I really wanna know, is why it took this long. Honestly though, I don't care. It's finally done.

So, with Willie out, that means Jerry Manuel is in. And with Peterson out (thank GOD), that means Triple-A New Orleans pitching coach Dan Warthen is in. I'm fine with Warthen; they didn't really have many other choices. However, I'm still not sure Manuel is the answer for the Mets. But we'll see. And we'll pray like crazy. The Mets play tonight at 10:05 in LA in their second game against the Angels, the first of which they won 9-6 with Pelfrey taking the win (and boosting my fantasy team stats :D ). This is gonna be interesting.

Now for some good scoop from Watch With Kristin:
  • The character of West on Heroes is most likely gone. I actually liked him.
  • Another Heroes tid-bit: Claire is not the only character that is adopted. Though Kristin hasn't told us who is, cuz that actually would be really lame, whoever it is will shake the foundations of the show. I'm pretty excited.
  • It's summer and tv news is slow.

Alright, I have a busy day. I just had to talk about the exit of Willie and Rick. Let me know what y'all think.

Tis Monday...

Welp, today is everyone's favorite day: Monday. And as I promised in my last post, here's a little taste of my photography. If I have any readers yet, feel free to let me know what you think! Also, if you've got anything you'd like to see me talk about on here, any current issues or anything, let me know! I'd love to bring that sort of element into this blog.

By the way, the theme here is summer...

I started this blog over the weekend, meant to update once more before today, but, alas, I didn't. Sorry, but instead I just plain old relaxed.

Or at least I tried to. With the way the Mets have been playing this season, it's been kind of hard to relax. I'm a huge fan and pretty much let them run my life, letting the way they play effect my mood positively or negatively. I'm not exactly proud, but that's just the way it is.
Beginning in late August/September, the Mets seem to have become a different team. As a Mets fan, I'm used to hardship and cheering for a mediocre team. But things should be different now. I'm not saying the Mets should be some great, World Series winning team, but they have the stuff to be. I don't really know what their problem is. Could it be that they're playing under .500 with a team filled with former Golden Gloves and All-Stars? Or is that the problem in itself? Or is their pitching just sucky and screwing them over? I think it's all of that. Their cup is running over with washed up veterans like Carlos Delgado, Pedro Martinez, Damion Easley, Moises Alou, Luis Castillo, El Duque and Fernando Tatis, just to name a few. Because of their on again/off again play they seemingly have no motivation or confidence. They certainly lack heart. Last season, their starting rotation was injury plagued and therefore burdened their pen. But this season, their starting pitchers are actually doing pretty well, with a few exceptions here and there. It doesn't help though when they pitch spectacular games and have them ruined by terrible pitching from the bullpen. The most recent game that comes to mind is Mike Pelfrey's gem late last week. Pelfrey pitched a beautiful 8+ innings with a shut-out going until Wagner came in in the ninth and blew the lead. The Mets fortunately still took the game, but it had to go into extras, stretching out the bullpen on a night that they should have gotten a break. We're just watching the same old story over and over again every night with a few, minor twists here and there.

What needs to be done to get the change that is desperately needed? New York media is all about firing skipper Willie Randolph and letting pitching coach Rick Peterson and hitting coach HoJo go along with him. I know something really needs to be done, but is this what the Mets need? A change in leadership less than half way through the season? I have mixed feelings. I feel that some sort of change could be what the Mets need, but at the same time, what if they make these changes and nothing happens? The higher-ups in the Mets organization just need to make up their mind already and stop playing games, unless they mean baseball games. Then by all means, play. We've been waiting all season.

Enough about that. I'm getting a headache.

Besides waiting up for the Mets to play tonight at 10:05 (I hate when we play in Cali), I was looking forward to watching Greek tonight on ABC Family. Buuuuut, that's not gonna happen cause some new show called The Middleman is premiering tonight. Honestly, it looks terrible. I'm not even gonna talk about it, just trust me, you don't wanna see it! It absolutely will not last. How do shows like this get put on the air, while creative and edgy shows like Veronica Mars and The Black Donnelley's get canceled. Just like the age-old question "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie-pop," the world may never know.

Onto other tv news, my favorite tv-scoop-person, Kristin Dos Santos, has recently reported on the new Office spin-off. (btw: you have no IDEA how long it took me to figure out how to make that link the way I did!) ANYWAY, according to Kristin and her sources, there are rumors flying around that Rashida Jones, who we all know as Karen Filippelli, may be starring in the new spinoff. I'd say that's good news. How could you really break up the present cast?! Good choice NBC. For once, you get a little gold star. Lately Kristin has been reporting on Lost and lots of Showtime shows, and since I'm not too into any of those, I'll wait till something good shows and I'll gave y'all the heads up.

Alrighty, that's all. Hope you Monday's started off... well? I'll be hopeful in case you don't want to be. Later bloggers...

Welcome To Me...

I spend the majority of my life sitting back and listening to what people have to say to me. But ya know what? I got something to say too. Maybe I'm not the most eloquent writer. You may not even find me that interesting. No offense, but I don't care too much :P I have a lot going through my mind, and I'd like to free myself up and unload on here. Whatever feedback I get from whatever readers I might have would be sweet and probably encouraging.

So: Who Am I?

That's probably one of the toughest questions I will ever face. Since nobody knows me, I could fabricate some ridiculous story and make myself out to be the perfect, all-American guy. But, since this is my chance to unwind, I need to be honest with myself, which also means being honest with you all.

  • I'm just a kid from Jersey. My friends, music, sports (NY sports) and my tv shows are my life, and most likely what I will rant about on here.
  • I go to school at Liberty University in Virginia to be a teacher, although I don't ever really want to teach.
  • I love the summer and the beach.
  • I'm a witty and sarcastic person, if I do say so myself. I am not sure how that will translate to this blog, because it doesn't translate very well on AIM, or even in face-to-face conversation for that matter, but I like to gamble.
  • Simple things, such as the sun, the right setting or mood, nature and beauty entrall me.
  • Most importantly, I am a photographer. Taking pictures can make me happier than just about anything else. I also like to tell stories through my photography.
  • Actually, a MORE most importantly, I have a lot to say. I choose not to see any therapist about that little problem, and therefore this blog is going to be my therapy, if you will.

Alright, well today was just an intro day, if you will. I have plenty more to say, but to be honest, I'm excited to post again, so I'll wait till sometime tomorrow :)

What to expect for tomorrow:

  • This whole season's worth of Mets rantings.
  • A little bit of dish on my favorite shows thanks to one of my favorite internet personalities, Kristin Dos Santos from E! Online's Watch With Kristin blog.
  • And a little bit of photography :)

I wanna leave everyone with some sort of signing off phrase, such as "Stay classy, San Diego," but I need to sleep on it. So I'll just leave you with a video of the two commercials I am most recently obsessed with. Welp, see ya later!
